Dear MAP Coaches and Friends,

On behalf of the MAP Board of Directors, I invite you to join us on Monday, November 26, at 7 p.m. for a combined Coaches’ Evening and MAP Annual General Meeting. This will take place at 550 Old St. Patrick Street, which is the John Howard Society building, and they have been kind enough to lend us space for that evening.

We will enjoy refreshments while listening to our guest speaker Jeannette Tossounian, who is a combination of author, artist and criminal justice activist.  Jeannette will talk about her own experiences with the justice system.  This link offers a peek at her experiences:

We understand that Jeannette will be bringing along a number of her books, in the event that attendees are interested in purchasing them (prices ranging from $5 - $25).

Following Jeannette’s presentation, we will get to the business of MAP’s AGM.  As a registered charity, we are obliged to have an Annual General Meeting that is open to the public.  This will not be an overly long affair, as the Board of Directors holds monthly meetings for the routine running of the organization, but it will include election of Directors.

The evening provides an opportunity for you to meet other coaches and perhaps to gain a greater understanding of MAP’s operations and challenges.  You are welcome to stay for the whole thing, or, if you prefer, just to come for the speaker.

As the John Howard building’s front door is locked in the evening, we will have someone at the door to let people in between 6:45 and 7:00 p.m.  If you arrive later than that, please call 613-710-2415 or 613-986-3609 to be let in.

On an added note, you are probably aware that MAP does not receive any government funding and is reliant mainly on donations to pay our administrative expenses and a part-time Reintegration Consultant. We’re trying something new to help out the coffers, this being our enrollment in Flipgive, a Canadian on-line company through which one can purchase gift cards or do on-line shopping, with a small percentage coming to MAP when people buy through our portal. There are many categories with numerous types of products available through Flipgive. Just copy and paste this URL to explore the possibilities. Remember, Christmas is coming!!

Hoping to see you on November 26!

Kind regards,

Linda Leinan

President, MAP Reintegration
